Final round of the RCCAOI championship (Paul Myles)

We
got this nice report from Paul Myles,

The
final round of the RCCAOI championship was held in Navan on the tricky Astro
turf track. Astro turf is my less preferred surface but I was determined to get
a good result. Practice didn’t go to plan as couldn’t get the right setup on the
car and was a bit of the pace.

On
Sunday the track conditions were tricky because of the unpredicted weather. This
helped me a lot in the heats which put me second on the grid for the A Main
final.

Got
off to a great start in the final holding a good 3rd place but unfortunately my
engine cut for some reason. Thanks to a quick pit crew I got back out with
little time lost. Car was on rails for the middle part of the race before long I
was back up to 3rd. With 10 minutes to go we had a massive shower of rain and a
flash of lighting and with being on the wrong tyres for the rain the last 10
minutes was a nightmare. I managed to claim 3rd place only 1 second ahead of 4th
after a long 45 minute Final. Thanks to Navan crew for hosting a great meeting
and all my sponsors for their great support.
